Royal Ease Kuan Yin Heart Sutra Statue

Stately, elegant, and richly detailed, this Royal Ease Kuan Yin Heart Sutra Statue is a  breathtaking work of art. She sits in quiet contemplation atop a rocky pedestal while assuming the dignified royal ease (rajalilasana) pose, a symbol of her elevated consciousness and divine power, which is further indicated by her copious gold jewelry. Beneath her is multiple lotus flowers, blooming up toward the graceful goddess.

Engraved on this large Quan Yin statue statue is the Heart Sutra, a well-known Mahāyāna Buddhist scripture, considered the best-known and most commonly recited text in Buddhism. Its Sanskrit name (Prajñāpāramitā Hṛdaya) literally translates to the "The Heart of the Perfection of Wisdom". It is, essentially, a summary of the central teachings of Buddhism, including the concepts of nonattachment, Nirvana, and wisdom. This sutra is written from the perspective of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, Kuan Yin's male counterpart.
