Quan Yin (or Kuan Yin) is the female Buddha of compassion and feminine counterpart of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. She is considered the physical embodiment of compassion and a powerful healing deity. She holds a vase in her hand that contains the nectar of life, a divine liquid that is the physical essence of Kwan Yin's healing energy. In her other hand, she presents the Pearl of Light - a precious jewel whose light cannot be snuffed out.
