Rebuilding Nepal Through Trade

In the aftermath of the massive earthquake that struck Nepal in April 2015, DharmaCrafts launched a project to aid the victims of this tragic disaster. Due to your support of Nepalese artisans and Rebuilding Nepal through Trade, DharmaCrafts was able to donate $12,224.00 to relief efforts. We are very happy that together we were able to benefit the victims of this terrible disaster. A large percentage of the donation went to Roshi Joan Halifax's Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund (NERF) set up through Upaya Zen Center and to the Save the Children Fund.

Although our Nepal initiative has officially ended, we encourage you to support Nepalese artisans and their families by purchasing products marked with the prayer flag icon shown above.

Now I Know That I Wouldn't Be Who I Think I Am Without Other People

(Book) Endorsed by H.H. the Dalai Lama by Sally Devorsine

Ages 6-10. Paperback, 56 pages.

The "Now I Know" book series is based upon the teachings of Tibetan Buddhist Master Geshe Langri Thangpa, famous for his Eight Verses of Mind Training. This series offers different methods for finding happiness for ourselves and others. Each book in the series includes thought-provoking discussion questions and activities, as well as the original Langri Thangpa verse the story interprets and explores.

Author Sally Devorsine (Sky Laughter) lives in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains and has spent the last ten years teaching young Bhutanese, Tibetan and Nepalese monks the ways of the Western world. Her books are endorsed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

In this book, Esme's Grandma helps her see how her daily life is dependent upon everyone in her community and beyond. She also discovers that her actions have just as big of an impact on all other sentient beings.

"Sally Devorsine teaches English to the young reincarnation of a lama who was one of my own esteemed teachers, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. She was inspired by the verses of Langri Thangpa to create these colorful storybooks, initially to entertain her young student. Later, she realized that they might provide a way to introduce some of the longstanding values that we Tibetans hold dear to children elsewhere in the world today." — H.H. the Dalai Lama
