Rebuilding Nepal Through Trade

After the massive earthquakes that tragically struck Nepal in 2015, the people of Nepal are still struggling to heal emotionally and physically.

Relief workers in Kathmandu have told us that one of the most important things we can do to help Nepalese families regain a sense of normalcy is to provide trade so that people can once again wake up in the morning and go to work. We encourage you to support Nepalese artisans and their families by purchasing products marked with the prayer flag icon shown above.

DharmaCrafts has committed to donate 5% of the sales revenue of all Nepalese products throughout 2015 and 2016 to earthquake relief efforts. A large percentage of our donation will go to Roshi Joan Halifax's Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund (NERF) set up through Upaya Zen Center. Upaya's example of engaged Buddhism is inspirational to us and to our efforts. DharmaCrafts will also contribute to the Save the Children Fund.

Wanting Enlightenment Is a Big Mistake

(Book) Teachings of Zen Master Seung Sahn
List Price: $19.95

Paperback, 199 pages.

Zen Master Seung Sahn, the first Korean Zen Master to live and teach in the West founded the Kwan Um School of Zen, an international organization of more than 100 Zen Centers worldwide. He was the seventy-eighth patriarch in his line of transmission.

Wanting Enlightenment Is a Big Mistake is a new book of teachings by one of the greatest Zen Masters to have lived and taught in the West. Zen Master Seung Sahn was known for his powerful teaching style, which was penetrating, surprising, and humorous. He taught that Zen is not about achieving a goal, but about attaining what he called "Don't Know" mind—and helping others.

Zen Master Seung Sahn passed away in November, 2004, but one of his close American students has assembled this new collection of teachings, stories, dialogues, and excerpts from the master's talks. This book will be cherished by serious students of the dharma.

"Zen Master Seung Sahn's teachings will always bring great light into the world. His extraordinary wit, intelligence, courage, and compassion are brought to us in this wonderful and important book. Thousands of students have benefited from his great understanding. Now more will come to know the heart of this rare and profound human being."
