He can manifest in different forms depending on the circumstances. He is typically shown as a beautiful youth wielding a flaming sword that cuts through the ignorance that obscures the true nature of reality and binds beings to an endless cycle of suffering. In his left hand he holds a book, The Perfection of Wisdom Sutra (Prajnaparamita Sutra) which is both the source and the embodiment of his awakened understanding.
