The well-known custom of presenting a white khata is a positive start to any relationship and indicates the good intentions of the giver. The khata is offered to teachers, as well as images and devotional statues. The Eight Auspicious Symbols are block-printed on silk/rayon blend and ends are traditionally unfinished.
