Our Zabuton covers have a zipper and are easily removed for washing. Just snip the stay stitching, unzip and remove the cover. We recommend washing in cold water and hanging to dry. You may use a warm iron if needed.
Our Zafus do not come with a removable cover, although we do sell a separate cover with carrying handle. Should you wish to clean your buckwheat zafu, snip the hand stitching (under the handle) and pour out the buckwheat hulls into a container. Wash the cover in cold water, hang it to dry, and use a warm iron, if necessary. We do not recommend removing the kapok stuffing from our kapok zafus, as re-stuffing the entire Zafu would be extremely difficult. It takes a great deal of strength and practice to get a kapok-filled Zafu properly and evenly stuffed. You may spot clean your kapok zafu with mild soap and water.
