The Eight Verses is a centuries old text that teaches us how to develop the bodhisattva spirit. These verses were transmitted to His Holiness when he was a small boy, and he has recited them every day as part of his personal practice. His Holiness offers a profound commentary on the entire Eight Verses and stresses the importance of implementing these teachings in daily life. His teaching concludes with the bestowal of the vow for the Generation of Bodhichitta, the heart-felt motivation to become enlightened in order to benefit all sentient beings.
Speaking most often in Tibetan through his interpreter, but sometimes directly in English, His Holiness transmits not only the wisdom he has derived from years of experience practicing the Eight Verses, but also his warmth, playful humor, and deep concern for humanity.
