Buddha Vajradhara, sometimes referred to as the sixth Buddha, is the head of the five Buddha families. As a Buddha, he represents the sambhogakaya embodiment who teaches all the tantras. Since Buddha Vajradara is the source of all the tantras, he is the source of all lineages. As the source of all lineages, he embodies all gurus. For this reason, the most common Guru Yogas use the form of Buddha Vajradhara to represent the Buddha.
